Bio
Izzy Vazquez brings to the clinical team a diverse background in the Behavioral Health Field & Management with over 30 years of experience. She has served patients in different treatment settings. Her clinical experiences have taken her to treat patients in acute/ subacute mental health services , outpatient care and partial care. She has also treated patients with co-occurring disorders and addiction diagnosis. Within the areas of addiction services , she has treated patients in outpatient , intensive outpatient and residential care settings. Most of her clinical experience has been with adults, yet not limited to treating adolescents with trauma diagnosis. Through her diverse managerial experience, she has gained a comprehensive understanding of today's marginalized society, racial disparities and lack of equitable distribution .
Her clinical approach is tailored to the individual needs; her areas of expertise include evidence based practices such as Cognitive Behavior therapy, Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma Informed Therapy and Person Centered . Ms. Vazquez believes treatment is a journey of healing and recovery as well as self discovery. One of her mantras is : "Life is a journey, during this pathway, things will be experience , some pleasant, other not so much. Thanks to God we do not have to experience these alone. Help is available, if we are willing to receive it."
Ms. Vazquez obtained her Bachelor of Psychology from Temple University Master Degree from Lincoln University. She has credentials by the Pennsylvania Certification Board of Addictions Services as a Licensed Substance Counselor, Co Occurring Disorder Professional, Criminal Justice Professional, Clinical Supervisor and Glambling Counselor. Ms. Vazquez also obtained licensing through reciprocity as a Substance Abuse Professional in the state of New Jersey. In 2004 she received a certification as a Biblical counselor from Christian Stronghold. In 2009, she pursued a calling to Hospital Chaplaincy in 2010. She was trained as a Chaplain at Hospital University of Pennsylvania, she currently served at the same location since 2011 as an on-call Chaplain.
Ms. Vazquez is a native of the Lesser Antilles Island, she made Philadelphia her home at the age of 10 years old . Although Philadelphia is her home today , the Caribbean often calls her back. She visits as frequently as possible, for the delicious fresh seafood, rich spices, amazing music and beaches and famille.
